When I first heard about Tor Des Geants I was captured by the magnitude of its challenges. To take on not only the distance, but the climbing, and elements of the mountains, I knew it was the race I needed to be a part of while living in Europe. To be accepted into the race was the beginning of a dream.
As a former team sport athlete, the camaraderie of ultra running is one of the biggest draws I have to the sport. I’ve come to realize that the people, and the stories, are the parts of ultra running I cherish the most. I always say the best thing about ultra running is the people you meet and the willingness we have to help each other no matter what against the challenge of the course. Ultra running is this subset of people that are truly special in a way I’ve found nowhere else.
When I first heard of the International Ferrino Women’s team, it felt like the perfect fit. I am thrilled to have the support of an incredible company like Ferrino providing the best equipment to tackle Tor Des Geants which is the hardest race I have ever taken on in my life. I trust Ferrino to provide the best kit to help me succeed. Beyond the equipment, though the opportunity Ferrino has created to bring together a team of international women ultra runners, is a community of which I am honored to represent. No matter where I race in the world, from Italy, to the United States, to England and Spain, the common love of trail running and the mountains transcends all languages. The opportunity to compete and represent a truly international team of female runners, is a testament to how far we have come as a women’s running community. I am deeply touched to be chosen to stand with these strong, determined women at the start line of one of the hardest races in the world, proudly bearing the name of Ferrino.
